Professor Chameen Samarawickrama is a Consultant Eye Surgeon with expertise in cataract surgery involving the implantation of premium intraocular lenses, such as multifocal lenses and extended depth of focus lenses, corneal transplantation surgery for conditions like Fuchs’ dystrophy and keratoconus, laser eye surgery, and ICL surgery for the correction of short-sightedness, long-sightedness, and astigmatism.  

Alongside his surgical practice, Professor Samarawickrama contributes significantly to clinical research and education. He is involved with the University of Sydney and Westmead Hospital in leadership and educational roles, where he supervises trainee surgeons and leads advanced corneal research.
